The National Peanut Board has taken a bold step in the fight against peanut allergies. For the first time, the Board awarded $400,000 in competitive grants to nine organizations advancing food allergy research.

These projects aim to prevent and treat peanut allergies, including studies at Boston Children’s Hospital and Northwestern University exploring school policies and early nutrition education. Other recipients include King’s College London, Deventer Hospital, and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, all addressing how early interventions and therapies can improve outcomes for children.

Ryan Lepicier, President and CEO of the National Peanut Board, praised the program’s impact:

"This competitive process has broadened our understanding of the research landscape and connected us with new partners, driving us toward solutions for peanut allergies."

Arkansas peanut grower and Board Chairman Greg Baltz added:

"This work honors the commitment of our founding members and continues to make a real difference for families."

Since 2001, the National Peanut Board has invested more than $36 million in food allergy outreach, education and research.
