From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. With a lot of unfinished business on the table from the last legislative session, the Washington Farm Bureau could use more voices to help get agriculture’s message across.

Farm Bureau’s First Vice President, Bridget Coon says your voice could help better educate our leaders in Olympia …

COON … “We want Washington farmers and ranchers and our members to know that, that you’re the experts in what we do. And, we should have confidence in that. And what Washington Farm Bureau plays a role in is that we’re that platform that allows our members to get in front of elected leaders to hear what they need to hear and learn what they need to learn to make better decisions on our behalf.”

Coon says don’t doubt your influence …

COON … “We have the tools through Farm Bureau to elevate farmers and rancher’s voices and that’s really what we’re focused on. And through the advocacy process, that’s a big part of our work.”

Coon says we can never have too many voices …

COON … “We have a lot of members that are effective at joining this work, but we absolutely do need more. The more the better.”

And with your voices, Coon says bring your ideas …

COON … “We would love to look at more proactive ways to make Washington a better place to be a farmer or rancher or have an agricultural business.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on Farm Bureau advocacy and how YOU can help.
