Public Forum on Dam Removal Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. There’s been no let-up in efforts by dam-breaching advocates to get four Lower Snake River Dams taken down. That’s why U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse, and others will be holding a public forum to hear your thoughts on breaching the dams …
NEWHOUSE … “Wednesday, from 5:30 to 7:00, at the Collaboration Hall on the WSU, Tri-Cities Campus. We’re going to be having a listening session focuses primarily on the Lower Snake River dams.”
Besides Newhouse, there will also be other state and county officials on hand to hear what you have to say …
NEWHOUSE … “I will be joined by State Representatives, State Senators, County Commissioners, all from the affected area, and you’re absolutely right, what we’re going to be doing is hearing from people as to their concerns with the potential breaching of the dams.”
Newhouse says so far, the public has been left out of the conversation …
NEWHOUSE … “And we’re doing this so that we can gather as many of the people’s thoughts as possible so that I can bring them back to Washington D.C. and help me make the case on why it’s so important that we keep the dams.”
The listening session is open to everyone so public officials can take your thoughts back to lawmakers in Olympia and Washington D.C.
Tune in tomorrow for more.
