Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as most of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I just prefer not to waste my time drinking wine that I don't enjoy.
Recently I had the pleasure of tasting some wines from France and I introduced many of them to guests in our home. Well, over and again, one little white Bordeaux Blanc kept getting rave reviews. Even by those who profess not to like white wine at all! The wine that has struck so many individuals is a dry well balanced and inexpensive little French Bordeaux by the name of Chateau Haut-Grand-Champ. It is from the 2005 vintage and it is one hundred percent Sauvignon Blanc. Layered with this much complexity is unusual for such a reasonably priced wine, retailing for only eight dollars.
This crisp lean and oh so easy to drink wine, is fabulous with every cheese I have served with it. It is a match for grilled or roasted chicken and pork and I like it all by itself too! It is a nice reminder that good Sauvignon Blanc is out there and it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Look for one to be your new house white wine I have found mine. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
