From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The Washington Farm Bureau held its Annual Meeting recently in Pasco where folks from the agricultural community get together to network and to discuss priorities for the upcoming year.

Farm Bureau President, Rosella Moseby says whether it was labor or energy or anything else ag-related, there was plenty to talk about …

MOSEBY … “It’s a culmination, I think, is a great word, of members kind of debating what’s important to them and trying to set the work for the next year. I don’t know that everybody realizes, but it’s a process that all farmers and ranchers when they’re a member of Farm Bureau can be involved in.”

Moseby says it’s more than just policy discussions, but also putting together a strategic plan …

MOSEBY … “We’ve kind of, you know, had a couple of years here where we’ve been doing kind of a deep dive on how Farm Bureau meets the needs of its members and the agriculture industry. Our current leadership takes a very relational approach to our work not a transactional one. And so, we’ve spent the last year really delving into what a strategic plan looks like.”

And, Moseby says staying focused on what’s important …

MOSEBY … “We revamped our mission statement which is to strengthen agriculture. We created a vision statement. We created strategic priorities and then within those buffets our action items, the state board prioritized.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on the Washington Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting.
