Grains Rally On Geopolitical Fears
This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Thursday. Wheat surged on Black Sea supply concerns, as grains rallied across the board. Let’s go to Viriginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.
Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day Up 57, to finish at 7-27 ¾. Dec. Corn was Up 18 ½, to finish the day at 5-53. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were Up 39 ½, to settle at 8-66 ¾.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Unch, ranging from 7-00 to 7-70. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Sept. were Unch, ranging from 7-00 to 7-20. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Sept. were Up 39 ½, ranging from 8-96 ¾ to 9-16 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Sept. were Up 19 ¾, ranging from 9-47 ¼ to 9-57 ¼.
Live Cattle for Oct. was Up $.17 ½, closing at 183.72 ½. Aug. Feeder Cattle were Dn $1.20, to finish the day at 246.80. Aug. Class III milk was Dn $.06, to settle at 15.74.
