“It Creates a lot of questions about the multiple-use standard that we've had on Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management lands for 100 years. And the planning rule has created a lot of questions and concerns about maintaining that multiple use, you know, for grazing for Energy Development for recreation.”

He says ASI will be active in this process, as it is important that the sheep industry has access to BLM lands.

“One-third of us in the United States spend some point in the grazing year on either forest service or BLM ground. So pretty critical to our industry.”

Orwick says that the rule could potentially change multiple-use to one-use land, there's a

potential that you would have one use, and if that's not grazing, then we obviously lose part of an operation. And that's what I think we share on a regular basis is, you know, so many of these ranches were built with that Federal Land Component 100 And plus years ago.”
