From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. Oregon Wine Month kicks off in a couple of weeks and runs throughout the month of May.

Neil Ferguson, Marketing Director at the Oregon Wine Board, says one of the special Oregon Wine Month events, that has actually already begun, is their FREE Master Class series, live or recorded, for those who want to learn about the wine they love …

FERGUSON … “Each edition focuses on a specific topic in Oregon wine and those are hosted by Bree Stock who’s a Master of Wine and she’s also our Education Director. So, there’s a ton of knowledge to be gained for both members of the trade, members of the industry and consumers. And it’s open to everyone and completely free.”

After the recent challenges, Ferguson says, it feels great to be back …

FERGUSON … “It has been a tough road to recovery, especially for visitation to wine regions, but we’re seeing just tremendous enthusiasm from distributors and consumers. I mean, the amount of love and excitement towards Oregon wine, as a whole, is really amazing to see.”

Oregon Wine Month, Ferguson says is kind of the launching point of the upcoming summer season …

FERGUSON … “You can go on our website as a resource to plan a trip. We have, I think, about 800 wineries listed in our directories and you can search by grape variety and other kinds of features that might be appealing for a winery.”

Ferguson says that website is www.oregonwine.org or you can also find them at Oregon Wine Board on social media.
