06/23/06 New Favorite Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is very often the wine that is in my glass at the time because I simply do not waste my time drinking wine that I do not like. Today we are going to take a look at my a wine from an Italian wine producer that has been and remains one of my all time favorites, Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio. Many years ago when I was first learning about wine I fell in love with my first Italian white wine. It is a Pinot Grigio made by a producer in the northeast of Italy in the Friuli region. Named for it's patriarch, Livio Felluga, the winery is well known for making some of the best white wines of the region. Livio passes his passion and innovations in winemaking on to future generations. Although they produce many other stellar white wines the one that I adore is the Pinot Grigio. It is crisp and clean an fresh tasting and the fragrance is enchanting lots of focus on the fruit. It has an ever so slight blush of color that also makes it lovely to look at. I recommend it for any meal in the upcoming summer months. It averages about twenty dollars a bottle and it is not always easy to find you will probably have to ask for it or place a special order. But I assure you it will be worth it. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at Vine to Wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
