JOHNSON: A lot of consumers have stood in line as I have been standing there handing them slices to try telling me this is so great to see pre-sliced apples because they just hate slicing apples. These young moms are more than happy to have something convenient that they don't have to deal with 10 minutes of prep and cleanup and they can just have a sliced apple they can utilize without any of that additional work. So really convenience is the key.
Johnson is looking forward to fall when the product will officially be launched. There will also be a variety of flavors to choose from. According to Johnson the growers benefit and kids do to.
JOHNSON: This whole thing is about providing a higher return to the grower for fruit that he might not otherwise have a good return on. So that's a premise for everything we do. The second is to again provide a fresh apple product that we know kids just devour at the moment they see them. A sliced apple is so much easier for a child to eat than a whole apple and the consumption just goes through the roof. We want to return high returns to the grower, we want to get more samples in front of kids and we want to give moms all the convenience they need to run their busy lives.
