CA State Fair Expands Wine Garden

A bit more news on the California State Fair. As the country begins to open up following the pandemic, the state fair is expanding its opportunity for the wine experience.

California State Fair CEO Rick Pickering joins us to talk about the additions.

“We are doubling more than doubling the size of our Wine Garden knowing the importance of grapes and wine production in the state of California. And what we produce for the nation as a whole. We've taken our six to 7,000 square-foot Wine Garden and have made it more than fifteen thousand square feet. So we will be once again, showcasing the top wines and state of California. We have several thousand wines and enter our competition for this year. They took it will be judged next week and then we'll be putting out the list of winners in a variety of categories. So that, that will be an expanded program for us.”

For more than 165 years, the California State Fair has showcased the Best of California and Cal Expo has been a venue for more than 200 events a year. Remember, the CA State Fair & Food Festival returns July 15-31, 2022.
