Herbicide availability and Rewards program

We've been hearing nothing but ominous words about supply chain shortages, and farmers have articulated worries about getting enough herbicides. Can Bayer Crop Sciences Rise to the challenge? An answer from Kyle Strachila: Glyphosate is going to be tight and that's something that we are going to have to address and plan for and come up with alternative options on maybe limiting our glyphosate use in the season. So whether it's getting on to a different herbicide program and giving glyphosate a break in the rotation, I've previously mentioned RT3 really popular summer fallow applications. It not only would help with supply, but it would also help with resistance to rotate to a different chemistry later in the season, such as a DEA 2-4 D chemistry. Those work well and hot late summer applications and paraquat shows really good performance late in the season as well. So those could be some options to rotate away from glyphosate and maybe cut back on your use this year. David: I know you're providing farmers with an advantage. The Bayer Plus Rewards Program. Kyle: Bayer Plus Rewards Program is a grower rewards program we launched in 2020 and we've been seeing improvements to it as each season passes by. What the program is that it rewards growers for making sound economic decisions using their product. And the more Bayer products you use, the greater opportunity that a grower has for a reward. It's a matched acre program. If you use multiple products on multiple acres, your rebate is going to grow. David: And that's what you call a win win.
