U.S. Beef Exports Value Record and Corn Exports Down in April

**U.S. beef exports soared to another new value record in March, totaling almost 126,300 metric tons, 1% higher than last year and the third-largest on record.
The value climbed 33% higher to a record $1.07 billion.
First-quarter exports were 6% higher than last year.
USMEF CEO Dan Halstrom says rising inflation and less disposable income may impact demand for April and May export data.
**Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig is a climatologist, agronomist, former farmer, and now, the 2022 World Food Prize Award winner for her work in modeling the impact of climate change on world food production.
Rosenzweig was recognized as the leader of the global scientific collaboration that produced the methodology and data used around the world.
She wins $250,000 as the founder of the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project, a global network of climate and food system modelers.
**U.S. corn export sales were lower during the week ending April 28 while wheat sales climbed.
China bought the most corn at 466,000 metric tons, but total overseas sales were reported at over 782,000 metric tons, 10% lower than the previous week, and 19% lower than the prior four-week average.
Wheat sales rose to 118,000 metric tons, up from the previous week and 53% above the average for this time of year.
Mexico was the top buyer.
