Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today we are answering questions from the email. Recently a listener wrote, "I went to a wine tasting room on what was obviously a slow day, I was the only one there, and I had great time learning all about the area and the wines from the person pouring the wines. She gave me her card and invited me to come back. I would love to have a day with my girlfriends going wine tasting. Would it be appropriate for me to call and ask for a private tasting for six of us?" If you hit it off with the person working in a wine tasting room and they gave you their card and encouraged you to come back, I say by all means, contact her. You have nothing to loose. If she genuinely meant it, and it works with the winery schedule, it might very well happen. However, do at least offer to pay a tasting fee for a private tasting. They may not take you up on it but it is a nice gesture. In my women's wine group, we also ask that each participant buy at least two bottles of wine when we are hosted by a winery. After all, this is their business and their livelihood depends upon selling wine. Therefore, if you were given a business card and invited to return I would say it is a sincere offer and you may have met your new best wine friend. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
