Where is Sam Elliot when we need him, to comment in his very gravelly and very sexy voice, "Beef, it's what 'for dinner."&..Beef should be and so should all cuts of chicken and pork precisely because the cost of putting meat on the table is at a 3 year low, four year low for chicken. This is great news for consumers but not so hot for meat producers who are trying to come up with valid reasons for this over supply of virtually all types of meats. They 're crossing fingers that when US beef exports to Japan and South Korea re open and the bird flu fear phobia fizzles demand will spike. Yet neutral market researchers feel simple overproduction is the culprit. What ever the case, lower meat prices couldn't come at a better time, with the cost of fuel sky-high. This just gives all of us more reason to park the rig, invite some good friends over and fire up that backyard grill for some spicy barbequed chicken, pork kebabs or spice rubbed steak. Is it lunchtime?
