Poll Shows Producers Optimistic and Ag Exports to China Soar

**Producers are reporting increased optimism.
In a recent Agri-Marketers' Poll, the 193 respondents reported on the impact of increased farm prices.
When asked how has the surge in ag commodity prices impacted their firm's outlook, 89% responded Very Positively … 9% said Somewhat Positively … 2% said No Impact … and 0% said Negative Impact.

**Exporters sold $15.2 billion worth of American farm products to China in the first six months of 2021, raising the possibility of record sales this year.
That’s according to economist David Widmar who tells www.agriculture.com sales are on pace to hit $33.7 billion, with some of the most active months for sales still to come.
The 2020 “phase one” trade agreement that de-escalated the trade war called for China to import $43.6 billion worth of U.S. food, ag, and seafood products this year.

**With the holidays fast approaching, suppliers expect a good season and rising demand for California pomegranates.
According to www.thepacker.com, California pomegranates are a true fall fruit, with nearly all shipments moved from September through December.
The USDA’s National Ag Statistic Service reports, 2020 shipments of pomegranates from California were up 7% from in 2019.
Suppliers said the pomegranate crop outlook is good, despite hot weather during the growing season.
