FluroSat is an agtech company that makes decision support tools for agronomists. The company recently announced the acquisition of Dagan, which provides carbon modeling services using their DNDC carbon model. The newly merged company has re-branded themselves as Regrow, and CEO Anastasia Volkova see a lot of synergy between the two approaches.

Volkova… “We saw that by adding the sustainability monitoring to agronomy and marrying our crop model with the DNDC soil model, it would make the complete process from planting to the next planting. Not just to harvest, but through the, either the fellow period or the period of winter cover crops. And we could understand fully the nitrogen and carbon cycles in the soil. Understand where it would be profitable to start adopting these practices. And it could form does decision support tool that our customers are seeking.”

Volkova says a complete agronomic tool will not only bring together productivity data, but also sustainability metrics. That’s exactly what Regrow is bringing to the market.

Volkova… “People rally around these outcomes. And if we can bring them together, given the platform that has consistent monitoring, measurement and verification, this really empowers us to agree on what's being measured and make a big difference.”
