If you want a good test market for food products use college kids. Rumor has it that Lamb Weston's potato products unit, a division of Con Agra Foods just might debut their new Trans-fatty Acid Free French Fry on select college campus's sometime this year. With summer break right around the corner, university students could be sampling the heart-friendly French fry, labeled My Fry sooner than latter. Now why college kids and not a fast food restaurants? Think about it. students have always had an avant-guarde reputation and have been forefront in the organic and sustainable food movements. They are dubbed early adopters by trend forecasters. So naturally, (no pun intended) if My Fry does become "the fry" on college campus's we can expect the big dogs of the fast food industry, McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King to fight over who gets to make My Fry their fry.
