Agri-Pulse, which has for many years been the go-to news source for agricultural policy and legislation in Washington D.C., opened a Sacramento office in 2019. Now they are hosting the Agri-Pulse Food & Ag Policy Summit West on Wednesday, September 9th.

The virtual event is modeled after similar summits they’ve hosted in D.C. says Agri-Pulse Editor Sara Wyant.

Wyant… “We just wanted to make sure that we were doing a better job covering California agriculture with that, we also wanted to bring our brand of in depth focus on legislative and regulatory issues into a meaningful format. And so we thought, okay, we've been doing this in Washington DC for a while, bringing lawmakers together and bringing newsmakers together, policy.-focused folks. And let's see what we could come up with and try to educate more people about not only what is happening on farms and ranches, because there's a lot of innovation, there's a lot of work to protect the environment. So how does that intersect with the folks who are trying to make new laws and regulations?”

The virtual event will be a moderated panel format with a variety of experts including CDFA Secretary Karen Ross, California State Board of Food and Agriculture Chairman Don Cameron, California Farm Bureau President Jamie Johansson, and many others.

The event is free for Agri-Pulse subscribers, but if you’re not a subscriber and would like to attend, you can purchase a six month subscription for $149 at www.agri-pulse.com
