Dr. Lucas Pantaleon is the technical veterinary advisory for Ogena Solutions, a company that specializes in biosecurity in animal shelters, veterinary services and farms.

He talks about what farmers could be doing to protect their farm workers from the spread of COVID-19. He can also address the importance of proper cleaning procedures and products that can help stem the spread of the virus without causing undue harm to the people who work on the farm, the crops, the livestock or any farm equipment.

“This is a good reminder for our farmers to continue to think about biosecurity and added layers of protection in implementing infection protection measures to protect their team,” says Lucas.

He mentioned that the source of COVID was probably some type of animal that then jumped to humans. It is very important and I think everybody needs to understand, and there is more and more evidence that wearing face masks helps prevent the spread of this virus. And if we all do our part, if we all wear masks along with good hygiene and social distance, we can do a lot in order to limit and prevent this disease from growing even bigger.
