Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is very often the wine that is in my glass at the time. I simply do not drink wine that I do not enjoy. Recently I received a glass of wine to accompany a vegetable curry I was having for lunch, it was from Oregon and I want to tell you what I found out about it.
When you find a wine that goes perfectly with your food you want to languish in it and savor every bite. This was my experience a few weeks ago when I was served a Gewurztraminer from a small family winery in Oregon. Chateau Bianca Winery established in the mid-1980's is a family owned and operated winery with a production that is limited to 12,000 cases. Among the many small lots of different Pinot Noirs, sparkling wines, and Chardonnay are two wines that I have enjoyed very much. The Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris are perfect with lunch. As I said the Gewurztraminer went well with my vegetable curry. The Pinot Gris is a splendid accompaniment to a gourmet grilled four cheese sandwich that is served at that same restaurant.
