Agribusiness is Still Hiring
With record unemployment filings, how is the job market in agribusiness? We talk often about the need for farm labor, but what about jobs elsewhere in the supply chain? Sam Dolcini is an Agricultural Recruiter and the owner of the California office of AGRI-associates.
Dolcini … “Clearly Coronavirus has had an effect across the board, but as we've seen with lines at the grocery stores and the like, people are still eating and food still needs to be processed. So when I talk to managers at California facilities, places that were open were still going great guns, trying to meet the demand, especially in the state with a population size of California.”
Dolcini says he continues to see demand for experienced talent, especially in agricultural processing management and sales. He says even with social distancing, the hiring process must continue.
Dolcini… “Employers are taking all kinds of approaches to dealing with these social distancing rules and regulations. I have not heard of anybody go through any major changes or when it comes to the hiring position. Even an interview can be done with the mandatory needed six foot social distancing.”
