Nick Koontz likes to fish down in Belize and explained why. "There is a fish called a Permit and most people have not heard of them but they are the hardest fish to catch in the world on a fly rod. Most people have heard of tarpon, bonefish and permit is the third one. There is some really good permit fishing down there, especially when I was going but now it has gotten a little crowded. I have been down there literally the first time I went down there I fished for seven days and caught one. If you need to boat a lot of fish, that is not the place to go. I have landed 30 permit before. It doesn't sound like very many but it is quite a few. The guys who are really proficient at it have landed about 150. I would go to a lodge which is geared towards catching those kinds of fish. I would sometimes go by myself, went with my girlfriend a few times. I have gone about fifteen or 16 times. I always catch at least one fish and the most I have ever caught was at least fiveā€¦in a week.
