Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that are typically mild, such as the common cold, though rarer forms such as SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 can be lethal. Symptoms vary in other species: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease, while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea. There are yet to be vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections.

Any impacts on wheat? Pricewise? Yeah.

“The commodities in general have been sliding backwards. Lower economic activity pushes the demand for commodities down, and when the demand for commodities goes down, it catches everything in it, including wheat. And so we're seeing the price soften because the price of commodities are going down.”

Any bright side in terms of domestic wheat prices and movement,

“the “domestic remains very strong. More than half of Idaho’s wheat goes domestic. And if you go back and look at the 10 year trend, you'll see that that we’re gradually trending toward more domestic.”
