Holly King is a Kern County almond grower. She's also the chairman of the Almond Board. She spoke to us about prioritizing research projects for the goals ahead.

“Oh definitely. I think when we look at these almond Orchard Goals for 2025 we need a new set of research projects to support them and an underpinning details for them,” noted King. “And so moving forward we needed a different structure to be more effective in how we manage those research project. So it's very clear to researchers what we're looking for and what we can invest in and what we're interested in and how do we achieve those goals. So it, it really helps us figure out where we want to go and how we're going to get there,” she explained

In more news, almond grower, Joe Del Bosque, of western Fresno Merced Counties often opens up his farm to bloggers and other people to come see crops up close. He says it's very important to do it.

“There’re a lot of people that come here that have never been on a farm in their life. They've never met a farmer or had a chance to talk to a farmer or ask him questions,” said Del Bosque. “Many have never never looked at a crop of close. And so I give them that opportunity and they appreciate that because they, now they understand where their food comes from and a lot of the issues that it takes to get the food produced for them.”
