02/03/06 New favorite - Buena Vista Pinot Noir

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I mean why bother wasting the calories on a wine that you don't like? Today I want to tell you about my new favorite wine. Well there are only a few ways to describe a really fabulous evening with my girlfriends and that would be WWOW! Spelled WWOW. Translated it means Wild Women On Wine and that just about sums it up. The goal of the group is to get together once a month and learn something new about wine. Last month they invited me to do a class for them and we ventured into wines from all over the place. One wine that almost everyone agreed was a winner was a wine from California the fruit was grown in the famed Carneros, it was 2002 Buena Vista Pinot Noir. It gave a new meaning to the word finesse. It move across your palate with grace and the balance of fruit spice and oak were masterful. Because the tannins were soft the fruit was very apparent making it go well with the food. We served it with grilled pork and strawberry sauce - the match was excellent. The wine is still available and it is not expensive under $15 a bottle. Order it from your favorite wine merchant or visit the Buena Vista website. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
