01/27/06 New Favorite - 04 Forgeron Chardonnay

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time, because I simply do not waste my time drinking wine that I am not enjoying. Well low and behold no sooner had our program gone out about my shear pleasure in the 2003 Forgeron Cellars Chardonnay and how I was looking forward to tasting the 2004 vintage when on that very Friday evening I was treated to that very wine. I was attending a delightful fundraiser called Entwine. It is a collaborative effort between the Community College, the arts alliance and the winery alliance of Walla Walla Washington, to raise money for all of those community causes. It is an amazing coming together of three groups essential to the culture of this small town. A town with a big reputation for quality wines, outstanding community college performance and home to many renowned artists. Many communities can only envy this collaboration. Nevertheless, back to my point At this event Forgeron Cellars was serving the 2004 Chardonnay. I was very excited to taste it and I was not at all let down. The 2004 vintage was just as pleasing as the 2003. It was subtly crisper to me and the bottom line is I loved it and I recommend it to you. I know that there is not a lot of it available buy some now and it will last for a couple of years but if you wait for a couple of years there will not be any there for you to buy. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
