L'Ecole Winery Top 100 Pt 1
With today’s Fruit Grower Report, I’m Bob Larson. It is to the wine world, to a certain degree, what Casey Kasem was to the music world …AT40 … “American Top 40 … fades”
The Walla Walla valley’s L’Ecole No. 41 Winery was recently named as one of the Top 100 wineries IN THE WORLD …
SAVAGE … “So, it’s Wine & Spirits Magazine which is a very highly respected publication and, you know, head editor Josh Green is really respected in the wine world and they took a really, even stricter approach to selecting their Top 100 wineries of the world this year and that we got back in the fold and are there for the 15th time is a big deal for L’Ecole and we’re really proud and it means a lot to us.”
L’Ecole General Manager Constance Savage says it puts them in some pretty select company …
SAVAGE … “Yeah, in fact, there’s only 15 others. So, altogether there are 16 who’ve received the recognition 15 or more times. It’s just really some of the top, iconic wine producers of the world and a lot of those obviously in France and Italy. So, for us it’s very rarified air and a great company to be in.”
Savage says the credit goes to L’Ecole’s winemaking tradition established by owner Marty Clubb …
SAVAGE … “Yeah, well, it’s really a big endorsement of our approach to winemaking and that’s a very consistent philosophy in our production team.”
Listen tomorrow for more on L’Ecole’s Top 100 ranking and that winemaking philosophy that’s worked so well for over 30 years.
