Washington State FFA Advisor Named to FFA Board of Directors

Denny Wallace, the Washington state FFA advisor, has been named the National Association of State Supervisors of Agricultural Education western region representative to serve on the National FFA Board of Directors.

A resident of Olympia, Wash., Wallace obtained his bachelor's degree in agricultural education in 1976 from Washington State University, where he later received his master's degree in 1982. He began his career in agricultural education in 1976 at Eatonville school district as an agriculture instructor in 1976. In 1983, he started working in Yelm Community Schools, where he served until 2010. From 2010-17, he served as supervisor for the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Skilled and Technical Sciences Program. In 2017, he began his current position as OSPI Agriculture Sciences Education Program supervisor.

"We are excited to have Denny serve on the board," said National FFA Advisor and board chair Dr. Steve A. Brown. "He brings with him a great perspective from both the classroom and career and technical education. We are looking forward to his future contributions on guiding the National FFA Organization and helping FFA members prepare for a lifetime of career success."

Wallace currently serves on the Washington State FFA Association Board of Directors as well as the Washington State FFA Foundation Board of Directors.

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 653,359 student members who belong to one of 8,568 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The organization is also supported by 344,239 alumni members in 2,051 alumni chapters throughout the U.S.
