For today's Farmers and Ranchers, the playing field is changing. That is partly because the people you are selling your product to is different in many ways.

They share information differently and know know exactly what they want, which can make your job more difficult if your are not meeting the exact demands of the people you are trying to sell too.

But as consumers become further removed from the farm, it's challenging to provide consumers with all the information they demand.

Melissa Brewer with Certified Angus Beef LLC, talks about how today's consumer is different from even just ten years ago.

"Today's consumer looks a little different as we look back over past generations and today they're more connected digitally than they've ever been before they're interested in putting their dollars towards seriously want to have confidence as they go into the kitchen and so collectively that gives us a great opportunity as a beef Community to continue to engage them and and offer our resources and information in different ways than we've ever done before."

Technology has impacted the consumer landscape for good. It's changed how people purchase their food – with some consumers skipping the trip to the grocery store all together.
