Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today we are going to discuss selecting wine for Thanksgiving.
It never fails, no matter how many times I say just drink what you like, people are still asking about my recommendations for wines to have with Thanksgiving dinner. So I will tell you once again that although I may think that Thanksgiving is the perfect time to have Riesling and Gewurztraminer there are those of you out there who just won't get into it. You want to drink what you like. So do it! The biggest resistance comes form the red wine drinkers and the folks who continue to carry the stereotype that Riesling and Gewurztraminer are sweet. Well yes, some of them are, and some of them are not. And the are nots is where I go for wines that are floral and rich and go very well with the types of seasonings that are used to create our Thanksgiving Feasts. Try some wine from Germany France California or Washington. They all make wines in this category that are stellar! And look at it this way there is no one saying that you can't have a glass of white and a glass of red. So if you are asking for my recommendations for red wines try Spicier Syrah or good Pinot Noir like David Bruce from California or Willa Kenzie from Oregon. But most of drink wine that you like. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
