Welcome to Vine to Wine, this is your host Linda Moran and today I want to tell you about an interesting conversation that I had with a friend who is in the business of selling wine.
I have a friend who is a sommelier a person who is well versed and educated about wine. During a recent visit my friend asked me "what is it about a wine that causes you to notice it what makes it stand out in the crowd?" I pondered my answer - I always give the glass a little extra attention at the start and then I just let it go for awhile to become whatever it will now that it is free from the bottle. It is like a new acquaintance if they interest me - I won't go far. I will continue to try to engage them so that we can get to know one another. After awhile I am intrigued, infatuated, impressed by their intelligence or their simple charm. Wine is the same - it makes me want to get to know it better -or it doesn't. When I do finally get to know it I may fall in like, in love or it gets poured out without getting into the conversation. Now my darling listeners I have a question for you. Well I would like to hear from you. Statistics show, that during the upcoming holiday season, more than any other time of the year, you will purchase more wine, consume more wine, and have more chances to taste wines that are new to you. Please send a quick email and tell me about your best and worst experiences with wine. What is the wine that you thought you hated and now you love? Who was the nicest most helpful wine merchant you ever talked to? What is the funniest, the most romantic, the most serious wine story you have? Send me an email at Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
