Hinkle joins Save Family Farming Pt2

I'm Bob Larson. The pro-farming group Save Family Farming has added another face to represent the good that most farmers in our state are doing and to fight back against a lot of negativity.

Former lawmaker Bill Hinkle of Cle Elem says it's important the public is informed, especially environmentally conscious millennials, and show them that the science doesn't back up What's Upstream's allegations that farmers are destroying our waters ...

BILL HINKLE ... "We're working hand-in-hand with the tribal communities and farm communities, and then we have this kind of thing that steps out of the box completely spouting old science and rhetoric that is flat out lies without question. And it's an attempt to, I think, deceive the public to move them in a direction that isn't needed."

Then, Hinkle says, there's the matter of mis-spent EPA funds ...

BILL HINKLE ... " This isn't the first time the EPA has been caught misspending federal funds for political endeavors and this is really what I think is most scandalous about the whole What's Upstream. To spend $655,000 to promote lies and pass legislation with tax payer dollars is not just wrong, it's unethical. What we want to do is to make sure our elected representatives, both in Congress and the state, understand what's going on, that there's accountability here, that these people that are misusing their power and misspending public money are held accountable."

Save Family Farming is currently waiting on a decision from the Public Disclosure Commission on those campaign finance violations.
