This is your Northwest report for Wednesday, October 12, I'm David Sparks and we have news regarding Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump which is positive should play very well in the candidates stronghold, rural America. At an event hosted by a Renewable Fuel Standard group, Mr. Trump spoke very much in favor of the (RFS).

In other headlines, US, EU negotiators confront ag trade barriers in T-TIP talks. U.S. and EU negotiators say they spent a good chunk of time during Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership talks this week seeking agreement on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) issues, some of which are keeping some U.S. beef, pork and poultry out of Europe.

The public and private sectors are being called upon to increase diversity in the agricultural workforce. A new White House initiative will seek to create programs and partnerships to entice different segments of the population into ag and science careers.
