Steelhead Clinic Coming Up
Whether you've been fishing for years or new to the game, steelhead fishing can be a great challenge. If you want to be more succesful, now's your chance to get some great tips from the pros. Here's Mark Newell with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to explain the details.Mark "A little background, the outdoors skill program at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife was formed because often times people's parents or grandparents didn't hunt or fish anymore and there's still people out there that wish to learn. They had no family that did it and they don't know how to go about it. Our program is designed to kind of walk them through that process. Upcoming on July 23rd we have two things happening. One is a, learn to steelhead fish workshop, in which we've got the Association of Northwest Steelheaders. Who are really the experts in the game who are doing all the lessons planning for that work shop. So you are being taught by people who actually know what they are doing, they've been at it for a lot of years and it's a really, really awesome chapter. It's the Sandy chapter of the Northwest Steelheaders. So that's an all-day thing, they teach you basically what rods reels you need, line, what types of end tackle there are. You'll walk out of there with some end tackle. We serve you some nice picnic lunch and its held in Oxbow park and its held on the Sandy River."
Tune in tomorrow to hear about part 2 on the family introduction to training your hunting dog workshop.
