Fishing Updates
If you're a Washington resident with a freshwater fishing license, or a saltwater license you might want to check into getting your combo fishing license upgraded. Here's Jason Wettstein with a little more information on what's happening this summer with the WA Dept of fish and wildlife.Jason "Well now through September the WA dept of Fish and Wildlife is offering current freshwater, saltwater fishing license holders the opportunity to upgrade to a combination license for under $28. Most of the time this would cost a bit more. The upgrade will give those anglers all the fishing privileges of a combination license and cost of what it would be if purchased originally."
And there's also good news for you trout anglers out there as well. If you find a trout with a tag in the dorsal fin you can take to the state and collect your prize.
Jason "And there's still a fishing derby going on right now, a lot of lucky anglers are trying to catch some of our prize winning trout in some of our area lakes. That's been a really popular thing and driven a lot of interest and we're hoping folks are out there enjoying the fishing season and also potentially winning prizes through this fun family lottery event and it goes through September 6th.
So if you're looking for an excuse to wet a line, here's your chance. Grab the family and head for the water before it gets too hot. To find out more on either the fishing derby or the combo fishing license upgrade, check it out online at wdfw.wa.gov
