Today we have Caleb Vaughn hunting high country bucks. Caleb, where are you having the most success? Caleb, "Just got to go where it is steep and deep. I will pretty much camp right where I am going to hunt. One of the highest points in the saddle and just sit there at first light and see what I can't glass up. Sit there all day and try and bed something down. It worked out last year where I was glassing at about 500 yards away and a group of buck walked right into my saddle about 25 yards away. I picked the biggest one out of the group and shot it." Good Job Caleb, I myself have hunted on some high buck hunts in the Cascade Range and one of our group members shot what looked to be a black tail cross deer. Have you ever came across this? Caleb, "I have heard of a few people shooting those, my father In Law actually shot one and had it tested and it was a cross buck."
