American Farm Bureau Federation Women's Leadership Committee Chair Sherry Saylor says women are the most trusted representatives of agriculture when it comes to talking about food with millennial moms

Saylor: "So I think that is one of the reasons that we have to be tell our story. Obviously also because we are full partners in the farm with our families. This is our lifeblood, livelihood and what we actually believe in so we have a responsibility to tell our story."

Throughout the year Farm Bureau provides opportunities for women to become better advocates for agriculture and connect with consumers

Saylor: "There is so many ways — like Ag in the Classroom is a great way to get involved because anyone can go into a class room and read about agriculture with the Foundations ag accurate books."

She says Farm Bureau provides training for women who would like to get more involved in agriculture

Saylor: "We also have Communication Boot camp coming up that any woman in America is welcome to apply to where we teach women to be agvocates. Whether you choose to do a blog or whether you choose to go in and do it as a group event. We have something called Our Food Link in Farm Bureau that we put out a lot of opportunities for women to be involved in their local community — maybe they could advocate at their state house or come to D.C. Just every level of opportunity is available to women in telling their story."
