This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for March 7th. This week we go over the Northwest Feeder cattle report, trade was slow to moderate with light demand. Gregg Sanders covers the weekly USDA cattle review.

Sanders "Thank you and good morning everyone, here's the northwest direct feeder cattle summary for Friday, March 4th, 2016. This week we had 1,350 head of feeder cattle trade compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were $8 to $9 lower in the light test, trade remained slow, demand light to moderate. Feeder steers on a deliver bases medium, large frame 1 & 2's 850 – 900 lbs $1.43 delivered into Idaho."

Chicago March Wheat ended the week up 1 ½, at 453 ¾. March corn ended the week up ¾, at 355. Portland prices for soft white wheat of 10 ½ % protein for March were dn 8, ranging from 5-35 to 5-43. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for March were up 2 ¾, ranging from 5-48 ¾ to 5-53 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for March were dn ¼, ranging from 5-97 ¾ to 6-12 ¾. April Live Cattle closed last week up 90 cents, at 136.42 ½. March Feeder cattle were up 90 cents, at 158.17 ½. March class III milk was up 2 cents, at 13-79.
