USPB Spud Nation's Food Truck Serving Up Delicious Potato Entrees

The United States Potato Board’s Spud Nation is the first farmer-owned food truck. It brings the adventure of trying new and exciting potato dishes to its customers. Derek Johnson is one of the chefs aboard the food truck fondly known as Bette — the first of many Spud Nation’s food trucks. The truck has been driving the streets of Denver and Johnson shares customers reaction
Johnson: “So far the customer feedback has been very, very positive. The overall consensus is positive. The food truck is gorgeous. Everything inside is state-of-the-art brand new —- kitchen appliances, everything outside has the bells and whistles. LED lights, ground affects and stereo for our customers. Enjoy some music while they eat our items.”
One aspect Johnson enjoys about working on a food truck is the customer interaction In 7 years as a chef in brick and mortar restaurants, Johnson says he didn’t have the opportunity to visit with patrons.
Johnson: “I’ve always been in the back. Customer satisfaction was just hearsay. I’ve never to see the actual customer enjoying the food. That’s been really beneficial to me. It’s a benefit of the food truck getting customer interaction and feed back instantly. So we can fine tune it and move forward from there.”
