Washington Beef State Commission Sponsors Beef Cooking Classes

Beef Check Off Funded consumer research says that targeted audience Millennial parents are vested in getting their cooking information online. So Washington State Beef Commission has focused their efforts in finding third-party experts like food bloggers to help get the positive message out about beef. The Beef Commission has sponsored four cooking classes in Seattle during their fiscal year. Two have already taken place and two more will happen this spring. Director of Consumer Information Jackie Madill shares what participant response has been so far.
Madill: “The participants that have made it to our classes have really, really enjoyed themselves. The two classes we have completed so far, were sold out. While we conduct them in a fairly intimate location down at the Pike Place Market. We are finding that we have ability to extend the information from the class itself digitally after the fact. So each of our bloggers that have presented have also committed to sharing basically everything they did in person after the fact on online, on their blogs and their social media handles — such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and we’re able to do the same thing. So it is not just the few people that are sitting in class but our entire beef community that gets this awesome information.”
Chef Kirsten Helle was the most recent chef blogger to host the beef cooking class if you go to chefkirstenhelle.com you will find her tasty recipes and tips.
