National Western Stock Show Update

This week many different events are going on at the National Western Stock Stock in Denver. I caught up with with our roving reporter Maddee Moore on Friday and she shared
Moore: “Today is a gorgeous day here in Denver. We’ve had some awesome weather this week. We’ve got the Hereford Pen show going on right now. We have had huge number increases this year so it’s going to be a long day but a great day for that standpoint of making this a little longer. So that is what we are focusing on right now.”
I asked Moore what was the mood among ranchers and beef producers in attendance.
Moore: “Everyone is continuing to be really really positive about what wed’er seeing. Prices are down from a standpoint that people are realizing that things needed to level out. But from the standpoint of going into bull buying season, people are excited and they are excited about the genetic offerings here in Denver and what is out there right now and just seeing those continuous improvements that we are making and genetic improvements — at the end of the day go towards bottomline making a profit.”
The National Western Stock Show hosts nearly 20 breeds of cattle during its 16-day run. The West was represented well by Idaho’s Colyer Herefords with their Reserve Grand Champion Horned Hereford Bull C Bailees Miles 4312.
