Livestock Market News Update
I’m Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for September 14th. Today we check in with the Livestock Market news update with Gregg sanders, as he covers the USDA market. Cattle numbers continue to gradually fall as we come into the early fall market. Here’s Gregg Sanders with his weekly report from the USDA.
Sanders “Trade and demand were light in Nebraska with a few early sales on a live basis from 1.39 to 1.42 and on a dressed basis 2.18 to 2.22. Trade was mostly inactive on light demand in the southern plains and Colorado. ”
Chicago September Wheat rallied up to 7 1/2, at 474. September corn jumped up 12 3/4 at 374 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for September, were up 2 to 5, at mostly 5-38 even. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for September were up 4 ¾, at mostly 5-60 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for September were up 2 3/4, at mostly 6-22 1/2. October live cattle dropped down to $2.42 1/2 cents, at 140.52 1/2. October Feeder cattle fell into the red again, dropping $3.75, at 194.75. October class III milk was down 23 cents, at 16-01.
