More About Potatoes Raise the Bar School Nutrition Program

The United States Potato Board has officially launched its new and exciting campaign Potatoes Raise the Bar school nutrition program that aims to increase the number of healthy potato options on K through 12 school menus across the country. USPB Global Nutrition Marketing Manager Meredith Myers shares more about the program and what it will provide for school nutrition professionals.
Myers: “Our program is going to provide school nutrition professionals with powerful resources and tools for their day-to-day and their planning. That will include an online tool kit which is available at potatoesraisethebar.com and in that toolkit and online we will have flavorful and innovative new recipes. There will be merchandising for salad bars and for the cafeterias where the kids are eating their great school lunches. We have a lot of nutrition information and handouts and even developing a blog that is dedicated to showcasing how schools are using potatoes to raise the bar on their meals. When I say raise the bar, it is how different schools from across the country are using potatoes to add excitement and participation among their students. We’re also be distributing a monthly newsletter.”
