USPB Has Listening Sessions Around the Country
Since the annual meeting, USPB staff has been working on sorting, categorizing the large amount of data into actionable strategic initiatives moving forward for the Long Range Plan from 2017 through 2021.
USPB Vice President Industry Communications and Policy David Fraser says it has been an eye-opening and enjoyable process to hear from members.
Fraser: “The one topic that came through very clearly in every meeting we attended was nutrition. That we need to continue to hit very hard on the nutritional aspects of the potato. When prepared in a healthful manner can be part of a healthy diet. It isn’t about subtracting foods from your diet to lose weight, it is about the foods you eat and how much you eat of them in moderation obviously and in the right quantities. That was a theme in every listening session was that we need to continue — which we’ve been doing for many, many years and have made some headway on it — that nutrition remains on the top of the list. That is the forefront in everything we do. The other thing that came through pretty clear was to continue working on building long term demand.”
