Oregon Wolf Update

It’s time for an update of Eastern Oregon wolf activity. Oregon Rancher and one of the founders of the Oregon Wolf Education Kerry Tienhaara shares more
Tienhaara: “Here in Wallowa County — just in 2014 — we’ve had 11 ODFW livestock depredation investigations on private property and two investigations were on legally held grazing leases. So 13 investigations and that involves a total of nine deaths — although one of the incidents was multiple sheep - so it is more than nine — but ODFW only counts each incident as one no matter how many animals are killed.”
She continues with the results of those 13 investigations.
Teinhaara: “Further breaking down, four confirmed, one probable, two possible unknown and six other. You really need to go to the ODFW website, look up their livestock depredation investigation reports and see for yourself. What we are finding is quite an inconsistency in the reporting data.”
We will continue our conversation with Tienhaara on Monday.
