Caring Cowboys Fundraiser

The third annual Caring Cowboys Beef Counts Open Calf Roping and American Qualifier will happen this weekend at the Jerome County Fairgrounds in Jerome, Idaho. Event Coordinator Timi Lickley shares the event’s schedule
Lickley: “We start on August 16th. It starts at 9 a.m. and that will be an American Qualifier for RFD-TV’s American and then on Sunday the 17th we will have a huge roping that starts at 9 in the morning. Later that afternoon at 4 o’clock we will have an open roping. That roping includes top calf ropers from across the country and locally. All of the money raised this weekend will go to Beef Counts.”
New this year is that the American Qualifier which is only one of its kind in the western United States, the American promises to bring world class calf ropers from around the country vying for ten seats at the American Semi-Finals in Mesquite, TX. Lickley shares more about Beef Counts program that benefits Idaho’s hungry.
Lickley: “The Beef Counts program — we are pretty excited to be a part of that — because they give beef products to the Idaho Food Bank. In the last two years from our calf roping we’ve been able to give 70,000 portions of beef to the Idaho Food Bank through the Beef Counts. That is helping people in Idaho to have protein in their diet and we feel that is very important especially as beef producers.”
