Riffe Lake is pretty close to Mount Saint Helens national park in the state of Washington and is known to be full of silvers. If you have any appetite for that kind of fishing, I have an excellent resource for you who just, oh by the way, works for Sportsman's Warehouse in Puyallup, Washington. Meet sales associate Keith McDowell. "Riffe Lake. There are landlocked silver salmon, basically in a 21 mile reservoir so a big reservoir, deep up to 300 feet, just loaded with landlocked silvers, I have also caught a couple of small kings, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass but, yeah, for a couple of years I dedicated my entire life to killing landlocked silvers in that lake. (Laughter). They are kind of like a kokanee so we want a softer rod, any of the kokanee rods we sell, any of those would work. The fish are fairly deep so you are going to want to fish off a down rigger is the easiest way, obviously if you don't have down riggers available you can run a three way swivel with a small dropper weight and the weight would very depending on where we were marking fish, anywhere from an ounce upward to 4 ounces. If were going to run that then we probably would not want to run the kokanee rods because they are so soft. They will be completely doubled over from just the amount of weight on it so we would probably have to use a little different setup.
