Comment on EPA's Definition of Waters of the U.S.

Washington Cattlemen’s Association Executive Vice President and rancher Jack Field urges all ranchers and private property owners to comment on EPA’s proposed expansion of definition of the waters of the U.S. He shares what the EPA proposes as waters of the U.S.
Field: “They would say including: intermittent streams, mud flats, sand flats, wetlands, slues, prairie potholes, wet meadows, and natural ponds — this is read directly from the Federal Register — would only be jurisdictional upon a case specific determination that they have a significant nexus.”
Any of those water features present on your farm or ranch? Well then you best get involved and comment.
Field: “It’s not enough for folks to listen and say, ‘Yea, boy that’s great I’m glad someone is fighting and pushing back.’ They’ve got to take the time to submit a comment. They’ve got to make their voice heard and get it in the record. And make sure that people understand that this rule is unworkable and has to be rescinded.”
If you aren’t sure how to proceed with submitting comments, Field explains
Field: “You go to www.beefusa.org and click on the EPA Land Grab icon on NCBA’s website, they have everything set up where they can walk you through. You can have your comments entered in less time than it takes to drink a cup of coffee or ice tea. If And if folks follow along on #ditchtherule the Twitter feed has a lot of information and good quality stuff.”
The deadline for comment is the 21st of July.
