RMA Education Partnerships Program

I’m Lacy Gray with Washington Ag Today.

Now is the time for commodity groups, county cooperative extensions, non-profits, universities and colleges to submit applications for Risk Management Education Partnerships Program funding. Here’s RMA Risk Management Specialist, Jo Lynne Seufer.

SEUFER: We have $2 million in funding that’s available for Risk Management Education Partnerships. These partnerships provide funding for the development of crop insurance education and risk management training programs.

Seufer says the RMA looks at five primary areas of risk.

SEUFER: That’d be production, financial, marketing, legal, and human resource. And these include a broad range of risk management training activities. They’re eligible for consideration under each RMA funding opportunity.

The application process is slightly different from last year.

SEUFER: There are a few more added components that will be part of the software application process this year, but it’s going to be pretty similar to what last year’s was.

Seufer also has this reminder.

SEUFER: The final date is June 30 at 11:59 pm Eastern time. And we do not submit through the mail, everything has to be submitted on-line.

RMA will provide free training on Request For Applications changes from last year, as well as how to apply on the new system on June 14 and June 27. To register for the training call 202-720-0779.

SEUFER: If they have regional questions here in Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Washington our office here in Spokane could maybe answer some questions as well at 1-800-205-9953.

That’s Washington Ag Today.
